Privacy Policy

We wrote this policy in plain English so you can quickly understand what happens to your data when you use What Is My Wealth Score. It covers privacy only. The rules for using the site, our disclaimers and how advertising works on the site are in the Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

The data we collect depends on how you use the site.

1.1 Assessment data

When you submit or complete an assessment, with or without an account, we store:

• assessment type (for example: Financial, Retirement, Security, Medical, Physical, Mental, Social, or Time),
• score results,
• financial summary values (such as age bracket, income bracket, and savings multiple/percentage where applicable),
• country and state/region code,
• the IP address the submission came from, and
• event metadata needed for reliability, fraud prevention, and reporting.

1.2 Account data (optional)

If you sign in with a magic link, we store:

• your email address,
• login tokens and session records (including expiration dates), and
• saved assessment history, answers, completion timestamps, and reminder settings tied to your account.

We do not require passwords for end-user accounts.

1.3 Shared score cards

If you are signed in and choose to share your score, we store the score card image you create. Anyone with the share link can view that image. Deleting your account deletes the card.

1.4 Contact form data

If you contact us, we store the information you provide (such as email, subject, and message) so we can respond and keep support records.

1.5 Technical and security data

To operate and secure the site, we may process technical data such as IP address, browser/user-agent details, request timestamps, anti-abuse verification results (from Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-in and contact forms), and related system logs.

1.6 Page-view and usage statistics

We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics to learn which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, does not use your IP address to identify you, and does not track you across other sites. We see only totals, such as how many times a page was viewed and which country or type of device the views came from.

We also keep anonymous daily totals of assessments started, free tools viewed, started and completed, clicks from a tool to the Wealth Score assessments, and shared score links opened. Each total records only which assessment or tool it was and the date, never what you entered or who you are. For the Net Worth Percentile Calculator we also count results in five broad ranges (such as “top 10% to top 1%”), never the amount you typed or your age.

2. Cookies and browser storage

We use one cookie, user_session, and only for signed-in users, so authentication works across pages. It lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out, and it is used for security and login continuity, not behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

The site also saves some things in your browser’s local storage so it works without an account: your latest scores, answers to an assessment you haven’t finished, your light or dark mode choice, that you have seen the disclaimer, and whether you are signed in. This stays on your device; clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Sponsor cards, shown under a “Worth Exploring” heading, come from our own server. They set no cookies, and we don’t record who sees or clicks them.

Amazon affiliate links are ordinary links. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies on its site to credit the purchase, under Amazon’s own Privacy Notice. Amazon does not send us any personal information about you.

3. How we use information

• Provide the assessment experience and optional account features.
• Save your progress/history when you are signed in.
• Generate aggregate insights (for example, participation and trend reporting).
• Protect the site from abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
• Send account-related emails (see Emails we send).
• Respond to customer support and legal requests.

4. Emails we send

We only send automated emails if you have an account: sign-in links when you ask for one, and assessment reminders. Reminders are on when you create an account and come every 90 days by default. You can change how often they come or turn them off on the Dashboard, or use the unsubscribe link in any reminder email.

If you send us a message through the contact form, we may reply to the email address you gave us, whether or not you have an account.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate the site (for example, hosting, database, email delivery, and security tooling), subject to contractual and legal safeguards. We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect our rights, users, and systems.

We do not give sponsors or advertisers your personal data. If you click a sponsor card or an affiliate link, you leave our site for the advertiser’s, which has its own privacy policy. See the Terms of Use for how advertising works on the site.

6. How long we keep information

We keep data only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, legal, tax, accounting, and operational needs. Retention periods can vary by data type.

When you delete your account, we permanently delete your account, saved history, shared score card and contact messages tied to it. We keep only your email address and the date of deletion in an internal audit log.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can sign out at any time.
• You can delete your account and saved history yourself from the Dashboard.
• You can turn reminder emails off on the Dashboard or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
• You may also request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law.

8. Legal bases (where required)

Where privacy law requires a legal basis (such as GDPR/UK GDPR), we generally process data based on one or more of the following: your consent, performance of a contract (providing requested services), compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests (such as security, service reliability, and fraud prevention).

9. Children’s privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
